Datacenter Network Engineer

Job Description

Role – Datacenter Network Engineer

• Use problem-solving creativity to design, architect, and develop high-end technology solutions that resolve our customers’ most complex and challenging problems.
• Engage with customers and partners on successful planning and execution of validation engagements.
• Support next generation R&S, Data Center, and Service Provider customers to accelerate implementation of new platforms/solutions.
• Validate new design solutions to meet customer requirements.
• Drive requirements discussions, analyze test requirements, build test lab configurations, author and implement test plans, and document results.
• Identify key issues and gaps and work with engineering and delivery teams to resolve them.
• Develop/integrate new technologies into lab environments.
• Help in setting up the equipment to facilitate the labs for training, and also teach the networking modules to new trainee engineers.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects from Delivery and Sales teams regarding future initiatives and securing customer business.
• Innovate to gain efficiency and accelerate validation efforts.
• Collaborate with other engineers to ensure successful project delivery.
• Identify and facilitate new business growth opportunities.

Preferred Qualification:

• Customer Facing experience.
• Previous experience in a customer support or TAC-style role.
• Ability and experience debugging and tackling sophisticated network problems.
• Routing and Switching experience.
• Solid understanding of PGW, SGW.
• Solid understanding of Policing, QoS, SD-WAN.
• Solid understanding of Cisco OS.
• Solid grasp of Cisco DC platforms (N3K, N7K, N9K).
• Experience in all or most of the following: ISIS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, LAN Switching, VXLAN.
• Programming experience/familiarity (Python / Kubernetes/ NetSim preferred).
• Linux/Unix experience.
• DevOps knowledge.
• Good communication skills (written, verbal, and formal presentation).

Required Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE/EC or technical equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in network engineering or network-centric software.
• Experience understanding and mitigating network hardware and topology failures.
• Cisco Certified – CCNA
• Proficient with routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, ISIS - functionality and optimizations.
• Experience developing and understanding Router/Switch configuration.
• Multimedia traffic analysis experience.
• Network programmability (Python, Netconf, Yang).
• Test and validation experience (hardware or software)
